The role
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and proactive person to join the Concrete and Aggregates team at our Birkenhead site. We encourage all applicants to apply if you have a good work ethic and an interest in this field, as training will be provided for the right candidate.
As a Laboratory Technician, you will have the chance to develop laboratory skills and gain exposure to the compliance testing of our concrete and aggregates products. Your primary duties will include a range of field and laboratory work, such as sampling concrete on job sites, sample preparation, testing of concrete and aggregates, equipment calibration, data entry, and results analysis.

Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, this is a permanent full-time position.
A company vehicle and mobile will be provided to the successful candidate.
Responsibilities
1. Sample and test concrete and other construction materials in the field and lab
2. Conduct testing in line with Australian Standards
3. Adhere to safe work instructions
4. Follow procedures and work systems
5. Maintain Laboratory NATA requirements
6. Perform equipment calibration and basic maintenance
7. Assist the technical team to meet customer requirements
What you will need to succeed
- Desire to start a new career or continue in the construction material testing industry
- Australian Driver's License
- Construction industry white card (desirable but not essential)
- Certificate III in Laboratory Techniques (desirable but not essential)
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and initiative
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Computer literacy skills (training can be provided)
- Commitment to quality and safety
