The Parliamentary Counsel's Office (PCO) provides high-quality services for the drafting of, and access to, NSW legislation and the giving of advice and information about legislation. The PCO is headed by the Parliamentary Counsel and is a Public Service executive agency related to the Department of Premier and Cabinet under the
_Government Sector Employment Act 2013_. PCO has a diverse workforce of about 50 staff, including legally qualified drafters, editing and publishing staff and corporate support staff in various disciplines.
**This role is for you if you**
- Provide a high standard of executive support to the Parliamentary Counsel and support to other senior PCO officers.
- Proactively take a leading role in the recording and monitoring of workflow of the office and systems reporting on the progress of legislation.
- Oversee the provision of office-wide amenities, events, executive support, and reception.
- Are committed to public sector ethics and the highest standards of integrity and professional practice.
**Key accountabilities**
- Perform administrative tasks associated with drafting projects as directed by the Parliamentary Counsel and prepare and dispatch electronic Opinions, PC Reports and other correspondence on behalf of the Office.
- Provide support in the drafting of correspondence, internal briefs, reports, minutes and other written activities at the direction of the Parliamentary Counsel and the Leadership Team.
- Assist the Parliamentary Counsel with the preparation of draft Bills and other legislative instruments ahead of Parliamentary Sitting Week and Legislative Committee meetings, ensuring quality of drafts, and completion by required deadlines.
Please note that some after-hours work may be required, particularly around parliamentary sitting times. After-hours work is managed within the rostering, flexible working, or paid overtime arrangements applicable to the team.
