About The Role
As a Peer Support Worker, you’ll draw on your own mental health recovery journey to build authentic, respectful, and trusting relationships with our residents and service users. This is a hands-on, impactful role where your insight, compassion, and understanding will support others on their own paths to recovery.
We are seeking someone with prior experience working as a Peer Support Worker, who understands the responsibilities, boundaries, and unique value this role brings to a recovery-oriented environment.
* Building peer-based mentoring relationships grounded in lived experience
* Encouraging life skills and self-advocacy
* Supporting people to make sense of their mental health experiences
* Participating in recovery-focused groups and activities
* Contributing to multi-disciplinary team meetings and individual support planning
* Promoting respectful, inclusive, and safe environments for everyone
* Maintaining clear boundaries and practicing ongoing self-reflection
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need to have;
Qualifications And Certificates
* Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (or equivalent training)
* Current National Police Clearance Certificate (no older than six months)
* A valid First Aid and CPR Certificate (HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid, HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support, HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
* A current working with Children Check
* A current NDIS Worker Screening Check
* A valid Driver’s licence
Skills And Experience
* Previous experience working as a Peer Support Worker (essential)
* A strong understanding of recovery principles and peer work boundaries
* The ability to work collaboratively, flexibly and compassionately
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Confidence to use your lived experience to support others while maintaining professionalism
* Commitment to inclusion and respect for diversity
Attitude
* Positive attitude towards people experiencing mental distress.
* The ability to live RW values in all workplace tasks and interactions.
* Pro-active individual who is enthusiastic and committed to upholding RW values and principles
This role is part-time working Tuesday to Thursday every week.
