Provide meals of a high standard to patients, residents, community clients and staff. Ensure individualised dietary needs are provided. Ensure all meal preparation and meal delivery meets the standards set out in the Food Safety Plan. Monitor the use and storage of food, perishable goods and other consumables in accordance with the standards set out in the Food Safety Plan.


The Role:

Carry out a range of duties associated with maintaining food preparation, service and waste management areas in a clean hygienic state with the Launceston General Hospital (LGH).

* Prepare meals as set out in the rotating menu and ensure the timely delivery of meals, including preparation of meals for Meals on Wheels and IDDSI Meals.
* Efficient and effective production and delivery of daily food requirements for patients, residents, day activity clients, staff and community clients, in accordance with food safety standards.
* Experience in the use of food preparation equipment, together with knowledge of, and demonstrated ability to comply with, safe food handling requirements.
* Ability to understand both written and verbal instructions, and to cooperate with other personnel within the department to work successfully as a team.
* An understanding of, and ability to comply with, workplace health and safety requirements.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, part time, day worker position, working 21 hours per fortnight, commencing from January 2026.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.


Salary:

$63,110 to $66,049 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

* Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
