Senior Mine Geologist – Minara Resources (part of Glencore Australia)
Minara Resources, Australia's largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel, is looking for an experienced Senior Mine Geologist to join our team at the Murrin Murrin site in WA's northern Goldfields, an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people.
Responsibilities Collaborating with the mine team to coordinate geology activities across the site to ensure they align with the mine plan and budget
Supervising and mentoring a team of geologists and technicians to ensure the delivery of geological services of the highest standard
Oversight of the production and development geology function and routine mine‑to‑mill reconciliations
Ensuring QA / QC meets industry best practice
Maintaining and coordinating the drill schedule to meet production requirements, while respecting budgets
Supporting the Team Lead of Geology to drive continuous improvement initiatives whilst providing guidance and leadership to our less experienced technical team About You
This role would suit a Senior Mine Geologist with previous experience in open‑pit mining.
Bachelor of Science (Geology)
Demonstrated experience and a sound understanding of geostatistical and geological principles
Understanding of arid environment regolith profiles and experience with RC drilling supervision
Previous exposure to Vulcan, Deswik, Acquire Systems, and Arc GIS (advantageous)
Ability to work across both production and development geology and willingness to conduct field work when needed
Current & valid manual C‑class driver licence (essential)
