To work in conjunction with the Head of Service and the other members of staff to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of quality educational service to children with a variety of mental and physical health needs.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supporting teachers by preparing, developing, and maintaining appropriate learning aids, materials and equipment, including ICT, to assist in teaching.Teaching a class unassisted if a teacher is unexpectedly absent (ill or on leave).Supporting the planning and delivering of Enrichment or other learning activities/programmes.Working with individual students needing special attention.Assessing student's progress and discussing development with teachers, parents and carers, as well as contributing to specialist assessments for students, as required.Consoling students who are unwell, injured or upset.Invigilating examinations as required.Implementing and monitoring the provision's policies and procedures.Providing pastoral support.Attending MA meetings as requested.Supporting transitions.ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Knowledge & Skills:
Knowledge of current National Curriculum developments.Understanding the barriers impacting young people's learning and development.Being pro-active and using your own initiative to support children and young people in classrooms and on excursions.Having a "Growth Mindset" and focusing on the young person's potential.Having a thorough understanding of Safeguarding.Being I.T.
literate.Holding a full clean driving licence and being willing to transport pupils in own vehicle (if required).Having experience of supporting young children in a learning environment.Experience of working with families.DESIRABLE CRITERIA
Having experience of ACES and trauma-based approaches to learning.Having experience supporting young learners with SEMH / Additional needs.Having knowledge of the wider local organisations who can help.Contact: ******
