About the Role
Located at our Raymond Terrace Campus and working closely with the Head of Campus, Student Wellbeing Officer and broader campus team, the Student Wellbeing Support Officer plays a key role in supporting student engagement, wellbeing, and participation. You will build strong relationships with students, provide individual and group support, contribute to case management practices, and assist with the delivery of non-curriculum wellbeing and life skills programs.
This role also involves collaboration with external agencies and contributing to consistent wellbeing and learning support practices across campuses.
Please note: This is a part-time Parental leave cover position until the 29/07/2026. The role is 5 days per fortnight, working 2 days one week and 3 days the following week.
Key Responsibilities
* Build positive, respectful relationships with students to support engagement and wellbeing
* Support individual and group wellbeing initiatives and life skills programs
* Assist with pastoral care and case management practices
* Advocate for students and represent the College at interagency and external meetings
* Support Student Wellbeing Officers across campuses as required
* Contribute to whole-school initiatives and community programs
* Maintain compliance with child protection, duty of care, and organisational policies
About You
* You already live by the values of Inclusion, Integrity and Innovation.
* You are empathetic, adaptable, and motivated by making a genuine difference in the lives of young people.
* You bring a collaborative approach and are confident working with students from diverse backgrounds and with varying support needs.
* Minimum 2 years' experience working with young people in individualised or group support and/or case management
* Certificate IV, Diploma or higher qualification in Human Services, Youth Work, Welfare, Social Sciences, Social Work or similar
Desirable
* Mental Health First Aid Certificate or training
* Experience working within education, youth, or community services settings
Atwea College requires:
* Valid NSW Working With Children Check and current National Criminal Police Record Check prior to the commencement of employment (or willingness to obtain).
* Child Protection Training, or willingness to obtain.
* Drivers Licence.
