The Role
No two days look the same in this role. As our Property Maintenance Officer, you will be out in the field keeping the buildings and facilities that our community relies on safe, functional and well presented. From a leaking tap at a public toilet to overseeing contractor works at a sports centre, your contribution is visible and valued every single day.
You will:
* Maintain and repair Council owned buildings and assets, including halls, public toilets, sports centres, swimming pools and offices
* Apply your trade skills across a wide variety of hands-on tasks
* Conduct building inspections and audits to ensure compliance
* Coordinate both preventative and emergency works efficiently
* Supervise external contractors
* Assist with project management of new facility builds and renovations
Skills & Experience
You will bring a practical mindset, a trade background and the communication skills to work confidently with contractors, colleagues and the community. Specifically, you will have:
* Demonstrated knowledge of building maintenance and Workplace Health and Safety principles
* Ability to plan, prioritise and manage your workload to meet deadlines and deliver quality outcomes
* Clear and confident communication skills
* Experience supervising contractors or team members, with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach
* Comfortable using the MS Office and digital tools for maintenance planning and reporting
