We're currently working with an Australian social enterprise who are looking to bring on a Technical Writer in a permanent capacity, following on from some large ERP work you will be bought on to collaborate with internal stakeholders to create user manuals, technical guides and online documentation.
**Responsibilities**:
- Research, gather, and organize technical and non-technical information from various sources.
- Be creative in the use of images, diagrams, process mapping and charts to increase knowledge, user comprehension and understanding of content.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business users, SME's, product managers and other IT professionals to understand and accurately represent technical concepts.

- Review and optimise existing content to identify gaps, redundancies, or outdated information.
- Evaluate current content and develop cutting-edge methods for improvement.
- Gather user feedback and analyse documentation to enhance content quality and relevance.
- Establish and maintain documentation standards, templates, and style guides.
- Ensure that all documentation aligns with industry best practices and company guidelines.
- Implement and maintain version control for documentation ensuring proper archiving of changes and updates.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops for internal teams on effective documentation best practices.
**Required Skills & Specialisms**:
- 2+ years of experience in technical writing or software documentation
- Tertiary education within a relevant technical field or extended practical experience
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Visio or equivalent.
- Proficiency in documentation management tools, such as Confluence and SharePoint.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to understand and communicate non-technical and technical information.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
