Job Description
We are hiring for a Senior Accountant who will directly report to the Corporate Accounting Manager for Pacific (Australia and New Zealand). In addition to working directly with the Pacific Finance team, Asia, Pacific and Latin America (APLA) Geography teams and local business partners, the successful candidate will work closely with a large and diverse group across many functions within the Nike Group, including tax, corporate accounting, operations, accounts payable and receivable, as well as our offshore managed service provider.
We are seeking a driven and experienced Senior Accountant in Corporate Accounting who will be part of the Pacific (Australia and New Zealand), Record-to-Report team to ensure complete, accurate and timely financial reporting and maintain an effective internal control environment.
About the Role
In this broad role encompassing both corporate and operational accounting processes, you will work as part of a dedicated team to ensure key financial assertions are met with respect to many dedicated focuses.
You will lead processes that ultimately result in the recognition of SG&A, taxation, intercompany and operational related accounts.
You will support the monthly closure processes, including preparation of management accounts for the Pacific region, along with completion of balance sheet reviews and reconciliations within appropriate timelines.
You will manage local statutory filings and audits and collaborate with internal and external auditors and tax advisors on tax related work such as corporate tax, consumption tax, transfer pricing and local tax audits.
You will support cash allocation & treasury function through oversight and engagement across all required areas.
You will support Internal control over financial reporting related to corporate accounting – including general ledger, taxation, treasury accounting and sales, general and administrative (SG&A) expenses and accounts payable process review.
Requirements
* A bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, preferably with CA or equivalent professional qualification.
* 5+ years of progressive experience with public accounting firms and/or multi-national companies desired, with preferable experience in SG&A expenses, taxation, intercompany, general ledger, and legal entity reporting.
* Strong technical foundation of accounting, direct and indirect taxes and treasury, as well as knowledge of US GAAP, local GAAP and SOX requirements.
* Experience with ERP systems and enabling tool solutions (e.g. SAP, Blackline, Business Warehouse) would be an added advantage.
* Demonstrate good communication and influencing skills on complex accounting requirements, while building and maintaining strong cross-functional relationships.
* Proven track record of working independently, leading and prioritizing against multiple priorities, while delivering results with high quality, while exercising a high degree of integrity and confidentiality.
