**In this role you will be**:
- Managing the Minister's Cabinet, Executive Council and Parliamentary business, including liaising with relevant government agencies about associated forthcoming business for these forums as it effects the Department.
- Managing the preparation of briefing notes and other documentation for the Minister's participation in Cabinet meetings and Parliament, as well as briefing notes on departmental issues for the Premier and Governor.
- Providing an advisory and quality control service on the preparation of Cabinet submissions and Executive Council minutes and Parliamentary documentation (including Questions on Notice), to ensure compliance with relevant departmental and Government-wide guidelines and procedures.
- Providing high level policy advice to the Minister, Director-General and senior officers on legislative and executive government processes.
- Managing the secure storage, handling and dissemination of Cabinet and Executive Council Submissions and Decisions in compliance with relevant guidelines, and monitoring the implementation of those decisions which fall within the responsibility of the Minister/Department.
- Obtaining relevant advice and maintain liaison with key areas of the Department to ensure timely resolution of policy and procedural matters referred for action.
- Coordinating whole of Department reporting on key Departmental matters to central agencies.
- Facilitating the progress of high-level, whole-of-Department policies and proposals in order to ensure their adoption by Cabinet.
- Monitoring and quality controlling all correspondence, Submissions, Briefing Notes, and other material forwarded to the Minister and Director-General to ensure high quality documents are delivered in a timely manner and that they adhere to standard procedures for the preparation of these documents.
- Maintaining close liaison with the Offices of the Minister, Director-General and Deputy Director-General to ensure that any matters referred to the Department by the Minister and Director-General are appropriately addressed.
- Ensuring that the requests set down by Cabinet and Executive Council with respect to the Cabinet Legislation and Liaison function are adhered to.

- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the functions, operations and procedures of contemporary executive Government, with particular reference to Cabinet, Executive Council and Parliament and uses this to build team performance.
- Are able to display a high level written and oral communication skills, including consultation skills with an ability to liaise and negotiate with senior officers.
- Have proven experience with high level research and problem solving skills and the ability to provide advice on policy and operational issues of a complex nature.
