We are seeking an experienced Asphalt Lab Technician to join our team at B.A. ROAD SERVICES PTY LTD in Truganina, Victoria. This full-time role is crucial in supporting our road construction operations and ensuring the quality of our asphalt products. As the Asphalt Lab Technician, you will play a key part in the success of our business.
What you'll be doing
* Conduct a range of tests on asphalt samples to assess their quality and compliance with industry standards
* Operate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results
* Analyse test data and prepare detailed reports for project managers and clients
* Support the development and implementation of new testing procedures and quality control measures
* Provide technical guidance and training to production staff on asphalt testing and quality control
* Assist with the implementation of the company's quality management system
What we're looking for
* Relevant tertiary qualification in civil engineering, materials science or a related technical field
* Minimum 3 years' experience as an Asphalt Lab Technician or in a similar role within the construction or materials testing industry
* Demonstrated expertise in conducting a range of asphalt and materials tests such as binder content, aggregate grading, and Marshall stability tests
* Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret test results and provide technical recommendations
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation
* Experience in the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and instrumentation
* Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal stakeholders and external clients
