Location
Newmont Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540 km northwest of Alice Springs.
It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region.
The Tanami Expansion 2 project aims to extend the mine life beyond ****, investing in a hoisting shaft that will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa.
A fully equipped camp is located 40 km from the site offering leisure facilities for those flying in from Perth, Brisbane, Alice Springs or Darwin.
Your Impact
Reporting to the Lead, Warehouse, you will lead a high-performing warehouse team, ensuring materials are received, stored and issued safely and efficiently while maintaining inventory accuracy and full compliance with HSE standards.
Your leadership will directly support safe operations, cost control and continuous improvement across the supply chain.
As a critical replacement position due to internal movement, you will ensure warehouse continuity and, most importantly, the safe execution of Supply Chain activities onsite.
Operating in a remote and dynamic environment, you will lead a team responsible for the accurate, efficient and compliant flow of materials that keep our operations running safely and on schedule.
Responsibilities
Provide frontline supervision to the warehouse workforce to support safe mining and maintenance operations
Oversee safe, efficient receipt, storage and issuing of materials and equipment
Ensure FRM standards, HSE rules and critical risk controls are consistently applied
Maintain accurate inventory management, stock control and demand forecasting
Coordinate closely with regional supply chain, maintenance, logistics, operations and site commercial teams to minimise delays and disruptions
Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages and reduce excess or obsolete inventory
Identify cost-saving opportunities and support efficient use of working capital
Conduct audits, inspections and risk assessments, implementing corrective actions
Drive continuous improvement by analysing performance, resolving bottlenecks and applying lessons learned
Foster a positive team culture built on accountability, communication and safe work behaviours
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
Proven experience supervising warehouse or logistics teams, ideally in mining or heavy industry
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory systems and material handling
Demonstrated commitment and leadership in HSE compliance and risk management
Ability to coach, motivate and build capability within a team
Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
Experience using continuous improvement and cost-optimisation principles
Practical decision-making ability in fast-paced operational environments
Manual driver's licence
Your Work Environment
Working a 7 days / 7 nights | 2 weeks off FIFO roster, you will reside in our fully equipped accommodation village.
As part of the Development Supply Chain function, you will operate in a safety-critical, high-performance environment where collaboration, efficiency and compliance are essential to the success of the Tanami operation.
