Our leather room in Cairns produces quality leather items for wholesale and retail sales. We are looking for 2 superstars to join our team. One position is casual/temporary over our busy Christmas period, and the other is a full-time permanent position.
Your typical day may include:
• Precision cutting, grinding, and manufacturing of leather products
• Measuring and gluing leather products to a high standard
• Sewing leather products
• Maintaining leather materials and tools required in manufacturing products
• Packing orders
• Conducting stocktake activities, including counting product, accurately recording stock
• Complying effectively with health and safety requirements
Experience – these roles require physical work and experience crafting goods, so we are looking for someone with hands on experience with precision tools and/or machinery.
Attention to detail – precision, concentration and quality. We need you to have demonstrated hand/eye co-ordination, fine motor skills and great attention to detail.
A level of physical capability – you'll need to be able to safely lift products and stand and conduct repetitive activities for long periods.
Good communication skills – you'll need to be able to listen and follow direction, use sound judgement, and be able to pass on information clearly.
Teamwork – the ability to work within a multi-cultural, close-knit team is essential.
A commitment to health and safety practices – this is non-negotiable.
Transport – your own transport is needed to attend the workplace, as there is no public transport.
