About the role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced casual cook to provide exceptional meal services to residents across our 110‐bed Busselton and 80‐bed Dunsborough residential aged care facilities. Reporting directly to the Head Chef, you will be responsible for creating quality meals while fostering a welcoming environment across both facilities.
This role offers a great opportunity for an experienced cook seeking a better work‐life balance, with Monday to Sunday AM & PM family‐friendly shifts: 6 am‐2 pm or 10:30 am‐6:30 pm. Casual role with potential to progress to permanent part‐time for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver exceptional food services to residents while ensuring a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.
* Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, resident dietary requirements, and portion control guidelines.
* Follow all food safety standards as per Food Safety Standards (Australia New Zealand) and the Aged Care Quality Standards.
* Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, including regular sanitisation of surfaces and equipment.
* Comply with organisational policies, health regulations, and infection control procedures.
About You
* Previous experience as a cook in an aged care setting is desirable but not essential.
* Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery is preferred.
* Minimum 2 years of demonstrated cooking experience required.
* Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety practices aligned with aged care standards.
* Familiarity with the diverse dietary needs of an aged care facility preferred.
* Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team within a fast‐paced environment.
* Availability to work across both Busselton and Dunsborough facilities.
