At St Michael’s Lutheran School, our Co-Educators play a vital role in shaping a learning environment where every child feels supported, inspired, and valued. Working alongside our teaching staff, Co-Educators use their expertise to assist student learning, support positive classroom behaviour, and contribute to the smooth running of the learning program.
The Role
The Co-Educator works under the direction of the classroom teacher, collaborating to ensure a safe, calm, and productive environment for all students. They play a key role in supporting students with specific learning needs and contribute to the wider life of the school through teamwork and care.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the collection, preparation, and distribution of classroom materials.
* Support with clerical duties associated with class activities (e.g. maintaining student records, collecting consent forms, equipment management).
* Assist teachers with the care and supervision of students during excursions, sports days, and other activities.
* Support student learning activities using structured programs, either individually or in small groups.
* Assist teachers with the implementation of learning support programs, such as Literacy and Numeracy Support, and Gifted and Talented Programs.

Requirements
* Certificate 4 in School Based Education Support (or similar). Applicants enrolled and working toward this certificate will also be considered.
* Current Working With Children Check and RAN-EC certification
* A commitment to child safety, inclusion, and holistic education
Work Hours
This position will be for 27.5 hours per week Monday to Friday for the 18.6 term weeks of Semester 2. This position is a fixed term contract in our Mid-Year Beginning Learning Community (BLC) classroom commencing July 20th 2026
