About the Role
As Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in managing geotechnical controls across a large‐scale, dynamic mining environment. This is a rare opportunity to gain exposure to the full lifecycle of major open‐pit operations – finalising the current open‐pit mining stage and commencing a new cutback stage, while also supporting multiple satellite pits. An opportunity through cross‐pollination with underground geotechnical engineering is another possibility.
You'll lead a small team of geotechnical professionals, ensuring systems and processes are effective, mentoring engineers and graduates, and driving innovation through proactive solutions. The role offers variety and provides challenges, from overseeing daily geotechnical tasks and monitoring systems to delivering short and mid‐term projects that enhance safety and efficiency.
Key highlights
* Exposure to large scale pit stage finalisation
* Developing a new cutback stage
* Diverse geotechnical conditions: hard rock and oxide environments
* Leadership scope with 3–4 direct reports and graduate development
* Opportunities to work across open‐pit and underground operations
* Community based culture with strong team spirit
