About the Role
We are seeking a Therapy and Leisure Partner to join our team in Rockingham. In this role, you will play an important part in promoting the physical and emotional well‐being of residents by partnering with them to engage in meaningful daily activities. You will work closely with the allied health team to support residents in maintaining their functional abilities, while encouraging them to use and develop their skills in ways that are personally meaningful. You will be expected to follow residents' care plans and provide person‐centred support during therapeutic activities. Additionally, you'll help ensure all practices are safe and comply with Work Health and Safety policies, and you will also encourage and support family involvement in the daily life of their loved one.
Responsibilities
* Promote residents' physical and emotional well‐being through meaningful daily activities.
* Work closely with the allied health team to support residents in maintaining functional abilities.
* Follow residents' care plans and provide person‐centred support during therapeutic activities.
* Ensure practices are safe and comply with Work Health and Safety (WHS) policies.
* Encourage and support family involvement in the daily life of residents.
Shift Times
* 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
* 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Qualifications
* Completion of Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent accredited training, or progression towards completion.
* Commitment to providing a customer‐centric approach.
* Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong understanding of person‐centred principles and ability to engage people in meaningful activity.
* Understanding of the needs of people with dementia in relation to leisure and therapeutic activity.
* Ability to manage a busy workload and respond to changing priorities.
* Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly within a team environment.
* Demonstrated commitment to ongoing development of relevant knowledge, skills, and abilities.
* Previous experience working with people with dementia.
* Valid driver's licence (car).
* Working knowledge of Work Health & Safety (WH&S) legislation and practices.
