Role
The Care Services Assistant plays a pivotal frontline carer role with a particular focus on nutrition and dining, supporting residents to live a life of fulfilment through the delivery of person‐centred care and support according to the needs and preferences of each resident in everyday practice.
Responsibilities
* Assisting in the preparation, delivery, presentation and serving of resident meals.
* Providing care and support aligned with residents' preferred daily routines with a strong focus on meal choices and individual nutrition.
* Considering allergies and food intolerances.
* Enhancing the overall dining experience.
* Assisting residents with meal selection and meal timing preferences.
* Preparing and setting up dining areas to meet individual needs and preferences.
* Actively engaging with residents to provide social and emotional support during mealtimes.
* Using empathy and kindness to foster a positive dining experience.
* Promoting resident choice and control to uphold dignity and respect.
* Preparing and maintaining dining experience areas and providing meal service to meet individual resident choices.
* Maintaining accurate nutrition and diet information as required.
* Assisting with quality food preparation in accordance with the Food Safety Plan, Bolton Clarke Food Standards and Dining Framework.
* Assisting with maintaining kitchen stock supplies as required.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated customer service skills.
* A compassionate and caring attitude.
* Previous restaurant and/or commercial kitchen experience (highly regarded).
* Willingness to take direction from others.
* Reliability and shift flexibility.
* Good time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
* Valid working rights in Australia (Passport, Birth Certificate etc).
* Complete a police check.
* NDIS Worker Check (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement) cost refunded on appointment or a National Police check.
