You’ll be joining a financial services group backed by a major private equity firm, currently in the midst of building out a shared services finance function to support an upcoming acquisition.
This is a 6 month contract Assistant Accountant position, with the possibility of being made permanent for the right person.
Paying up to 90k + Super FTE and you can be based out of Adelaide, Sydney or Melbourne.
The highlights:
- Start early, finish early - 7:30am starts with flexibility on the end time.
- 1-2 days a week max in the office, after the first 2-4 weeks, it could even be FULL REMOTE!

- Process daily bank transactions across multiple entities and currencies (AUD & NZD).
- Perform daily and monthly reconciliations using systems like NetSuite, Odyssey, and Xero.
- Review settlement files prior to payment and flag any issues with the operations team.
- Post journals and run transaction reviews across key accounts.
- Interact daily with operations and sales teams to resolve issues or clarify transactions.
- Contribute to continuous process improvement and automation across the finance function.
- Assist with ad hoc reporting, analysis and small finance projects as needed.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in a finance operations or assistant accountant role.
- Comfortable working under strict time pressures - daily reconciliations must be completed within 2–2.5 hours.
- High attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
- Intermediate Excel skills - pivot tables and VLOOKUPs at minimum.
- Exposure to NetSuite, Xero or financial services systems like Odyssey would be a bonus.
