The Senior Prosecuting Solicitor (Prosecution Support Unit) is accountable to the Prosecution Manager PSU and Officer in Charge Strategy and Support Section for providing legal services relevant to appeals or subpoenas (whether by prosecution or defence), or any other legal issue associated with matters prosecuted by Prosecution Services Branch (PSB) prosecutors. The Senior Prosecuting Solicitor (Prosecution Support Unit) will, in consultation with the OC Strategy and Support Section act as instructing solicitor to the Crown Solicitor's Office in SAPOL appeal and subpoena matters. A characteristic of the position is significant professional autonomy which the incumbent is expected to exercise at all times in accordance with legal professional and ethical obligations regarding instructions from PSB management.
The Senior Prosecuting Solicitor (Prosecution Support Unit) is responsible for identifying and advising PSB management strategic issues associated with appeals, subpoenas or any other legal matter and is expected to work in close alignment with Prosecution Training Unit and the Policy and Advice Officer as required, and perform such other duties relevant to the position as directed by the OC Strategy and Support Section. The Senior Prosecuting Solicitor Prosecution Support Unit is expected to provide leadership and assistance to support other prosecutors and prosecuting solicitors within PSB.
The Senior Prosecuting Solicitor (Prosecution Support Unit) is expected to act in accordance with the ethics of the legal profession.

* The incumbent must hold a current Australian work eligibility status and will be subject to a criminal history check.
* The incumbent may be assigned to other duties at this remuneration level or equivalent.
* Some out of hours work and intra/interstate travel may be required.
* The incumbent is required to participate in SAPOL's iEngage program.
* The incumbent must successfully complete the relevant Induction Course
Salary
LE4 - $118,529 - $129,582 per annum.
