About the Role
Step into a meaningful, people‑focused role where you’ll combine practical WHS support with apprentice wellbeing guidance across a diverse range of host employer environments. You’ll work closely with managers, Field Officers and host PCBUs to keep apprentices safe, supported and thriving — from conducting workplace inspections and managing incidents, to coordinating return‑to‑work plans and providing pastoral care for young people navigating challenges at work. This is a role with real impact, variety and purpose, helping shape safer, healthier and more positive experiences for the next generation of skilled workers. The role includes:
* WHS support & advice — guide managers, apprentices and host employers on safe work practices.
* Workplace inspections — conduct audits, risk assessments and host PCBU evaluations.
* Incident response — assist with investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
* Injury management — coordinate return‑to‑work processes and liaise with insurers and providers.
* Apprentice wellbeing — provide pastoral care, support with personal challenges, and escalate concerns appropriately.
* Reporting & governance — contribute to WHS reporting, audits, compliance and continuous improvement.
About You
We are looking for someone who is confident engaging with people, calm under pressure, and passionate about safety and wellbeing. You’ll thrive if you enjoy balancing field work, problem‑solving and meaningful conversations with apprentices. You will also have:
* Cert IV in WHS or equivalent
* Return to Work Coordinator qualification or willingness to obtain.
* Experience in WHS, injury management or workers compensation
* Strong understanding of WHS legislation and PCBU obligations
* Confident conducting inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Ability to manage sensitive matters with professionalism and care
* Current Driver Licence + WWCC (or ability to obtain)
