AGRICULTURAL/HORICULTURAL MOBILE PLANT OPERATORS

Kangaringa Farm Pty Limited is a family owned and operated mixed farming operation located in the South East of South Australia
POSITION – Multiple Positions Available
As a plant operator you will work closely with the Farm Operations Manager and the farm team including outside consultants as necessary to enable the successful growing, planting and harvesting of all crops at Kangaringa Station.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Your Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
* Operating various pieces of farming equipment, including but not limited to:
* Self-Propelled Harvesters
* Tow behind Harvesters
* Self-Propelled Sprayer
* Tow behind Sprayer
* Tractors – both tracked and wheeled.
* Tractors pulling implements for ground preparation.
* Tractors towing Trailers or Tippers
* Forklifts
* Assisting the Operation Manager in organising and conducting farming operations, such as harvesting, ground preparation, grading, storage, and staffing.
* Conducting general farming activities such as fertilising and pest and weed control.
* Maintaining records of farming activities
* Contribute to conversations regarding equipment requirements and potential maintenance.
* OHS compliance and management.
* The role is not restricted functions solely listed above; it requires a "common sense" approach and flexibility.
* Any other duties as required.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES, SKILLS & ABILITIES
* Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with all levels of the company.
* Previous experience operating agricultural and horticultural machinery.
* Friendly demeanour
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment due to the nature of horticulture and mixed farming in Australia.
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Previous experience crop farming in the Australian Climate
REMUNERATION
A salary of $76,515 a year, plus super will be provided, covering ordinary time earnings and overtime. Hours of work will be fluctuating and will be negotiated with the successful candidate, along with housing options.
