To support growth in manufacturing, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Manufacturing Support Engineer to work in Cochlear Malaysia. You will be responsible for maintaining efficient and productive engineering support to manufacturing and repair areas through implementation and management of day-to-day manufacturing/repair issues and process improvements. You will also provide engineering support to manufacturing and repair cost-saving activities in CMY, ensuring quality requirements are met.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
* Providing the first point of contact for manufacturing & repair on yield, quality, and throughput issues.
* Providing solutions to identified manufacturing & repair problems.
* Supporting NPI activities and ensuring a smooth transition into production.
* Analyzing and resolving complex manufacturing, quality, and compliance issues (e.g., CAPA, non-conformances, audit observations).
* Ensuring NCRs, CAPAs, concessions, and change notes are processed in a timely manner.
* Identifying process solutions and creating plans to coordinate activities, mentoring other engineers and technicians as needed.
* Using proven methods to analyze failures and challenges, identify root causes, and implement solutions for yield and quality improvement.
* Collaborating with other departments (warehouse, supply, procurement, NPI) to resolve manufacturing challenges.
* Reviewing product, process, and equipment designs, work instructions, and safety to meet business needs without compromising quality.
Key Requirements
* At least 8 years of experience in a highly regulated GMP manufacturing environment preferred.
* Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Technical, or Manufacturing qualification.
* Experience working within a Quality Management System is highly desirable.
* Experience with production management systems (e.g., Oracle).
* Experience in Design of Experiments (DOE), developing protocols, and performing process validations (IQ/OQ/PQ) is MUST .
* Experience in designing process flows and production line layouts is MUST .
* Experience in risk management (risk analysis, DFMEA, PFMEA) is highly desirable.
* Exposure to a regulated environment working within a QMS framework; ISO exposure or good understanding of QMS is MUST .
* Knowledge of Change Management processes is highly desirable.
* Strong project management skills, especially in process improvement and cost-saving projects, are an advantage.
* Proven problem-solving, design, manufacturing/business process development, and personal influence skills.
* Good interpersonal skills and written communication in English.
* Candidates from Medical Device manufacturing industry have an added advantage.
