As our business continues to grow, we're investing heavily in capability, compliance and culture — and we're now seeking an experienced Trainer & Assessor to take ownership of our training, onboarding and investigation frameworks.
This is a Monday to Friday, Toowoomba-based role, ideal for someone who thrives on building capability, lifting standards and shaping the future of a high-performing workforce.
Opportunity
As our Trainer & Assessor, you'll be the champion of workforce competence, helping to deliver an unforgettable onboarding experience, and investigation quality. You'll work closely with leadership, HR & HSEQ and operations to ensure our people are trained, compliant and continuously improving.
You will be responsible for:
* Developing, maintaining and delivering training and assessment programs
* Leading and contributing to incident & NCR investigations and reporting
* Providing structured onboarding and inductions for all new starters
* Maintaining training records, competencies and compliance documentation
* Coaching leaders and crews on safe work practices and continuous improvement
* Supporting HSEQ initiatives and field verification activities
* Supporting the daily functioning of OnSpec's Toowoomba facility
This is a hands‑on, influential role with real impact across the business.
About You
You're a confident facilitator, strong communicator and natural mentor. You're comfortable in a training room and you know how to influence without authority. You're passionate about safety, standards and capability.
Essential:
* Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE)
* Demonstrated experience in a Trainer & Assessor or similar role
* Proven ability to design and deliver training programs
* Strong skills in documentation, reporting and compliance
* Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement
* Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
Highly Desirable:
* Experience in the Energy sector
* Training in ICAM or similar investigation methodology
* Experience leading or contributing to incident investigations
* Exposure to onboarding frameworks and competency management systems
