Tasks & Responsibilities
* Greet and serve customers as the highest priority, ensuring a consistently positive customer experience.
* Supervise, coordinate, and support the daily activities of the sales team, ensuring adherence to store procedures and standards.
* Provide information, advice, and assistance to customers, and deliver training and coaching to staff to enhance their sales performance and customer service skills.
* Manage and fulfil customer orders and requests, including preparing quotes and processing purchase orders.
* Oversee the receiving, preparation, and display of goods within the store and external display areas.
* Develop comprehensive product knowledge across all stock categories.
* Coordinate visual merchandising, including window displays, store layout, and product presentation.
* Supervise or perform pre‐packing, packing, weighing, assembling, pricing, and preparation of goods for sale.
* Ensure correct product presentation, including shelf filling, replenishment, and other display methods.
* Process customer payments by all accepted methods.
* Record sales and credits using POS software.
* Supervise the receiving, unpacking, invoice checking, and allocation of stock, ensuring accuracy and proper handling.
* Oversee the wrapping, packing, and dispatch of goods.
* Implement and monitor loss prevention practices to protect company assets.
* Maintain store cleanliness and ensure a neat, organised environment.
* Participate in and supervise stocktaking activities.
* Carry out basic clerical tasks, including handling telephone calls, emails, and document filing using established systems.
* Provide supervision and training to junior staff and Level 1/2 retail assistants.
* Respond to and process customer enquiries, quotes, and orders in a timely, professional, and respectful manner.
* Perform store opening and closing procedures, including security tasks and cash handling security.
* Work collaboratively with all staff, fostering a positive and cooperative team environment.
* Demonstrate initiative by completing tasks as they arise, without waiting for direction.
* Act at all times in the best interests of the business.
* Exercise discretion and take responsibility for one's own work, consistent with the level of autonomy required for the role.
