Update your details, view your application and progress.Defence Logistics Supervisor Government ServicesJob no: ******Work type: Full timeLocation: New South WalesCategories: Management, Transport & Logistics, PortsABOUT THE ROLEThe Defence Logistics Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising the delivery of logistics and operational support for Defence naval port visits, both domestically and internationally.
Acting as the on-the-ground operational lead, the role ensures Defence requirements are understood, communicated and executed safely, efficiently and to agreed standards, often within time-critical and high-risk environments.The position plays a key role in stakeholder management, operational problem-solving and team leadership, ensuring Qube Government Services consistently delivers compliant, reliable and value-driven logistics solutions in support of Defence operations.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESPlan, coordinate and supervise logistics and operational support for Defence naval port visits, both domestically and internationally, ensuring services are delivered safely, compliantly and to agreed timelines.Act as the on-site operational lead and primary point of contact during naval port visits, managing day-to-day execution and resolving operational issues in time-critical environments.Liaise closely with Defence (Australian and allied navies), shipping agents, vessel crew, and local service providers to confirm requirements, coordinate services and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.Apply a working knowledge of Defence and Navy operating environments to interpret requirements, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and respond effectively to short-notice or changing operational demands.Direct, supervise and support operational staff on the job to ensure safe systems of work, efficient task execution and adherence to Qube and Defence standards.Ensure standards, procedures, and expectations are clearly communicated to operational teams and consistently applied during service delivery.Monitor compliance with employment agreements, WHS, environmental legislation, Defence requirements and company policies, taking corrective action where required.Identify operational risks, inefficiencies and improvement opportunities, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across Government Services operations.Represent Qube Government Services professionally when engaging with customers, Defence stakeholders, shipping agents and vessel crews, promoting Qube as a trusted, low-risk logistics partner.General ResponsibilitiesTake reasonable care for your own safety and health and the safety of others.Follow all safety and health instructions as specified during induction.Use personal protective clothing or equipment provided by the company when applicable.Take good care and maintenance of company and client equipment.Report any situation at the workplace that could constitute a hazard and that you cannot correct yourself.Report any injury or harm to health that arises in the course of, or in connection with, your work—however minor.Co-operate as necessary so that the company can meet its SHS obligations.Co-operate with rehabilitation programs where required.Qualifications and ExperienceSound knowledge of the maritime industry with government experienceExperience in high-risk operating environmentsStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of peopleExperience in regulated workplace environments.Knowledge and understanding of applicable Commonwealth/State Safety and Environmental legislation and standardsAbility to work autonomously using proactive approach to task resolutionAbility to be flexible and adaptable to work in a demanding environmentAbility to work well within a small team environmentHold, or be eligible to obtain, an AGSVA security clearance to NV1 levelTeam management and leadershipProblem solving abilityFocus on safetyCustomer focused and responsive to customer requirementsAnalytical & financial understandingTime managementABOUT YOUYou will be committed to safety in the workplace and be committed to 100% Chain of Responsibility compliance.
