A high-profile government program is seeking an experienced Cost Estimation Analyst to support strategic capability development within the national defence sector. The role sits within a team responsible for assessing the feasibility and affordability of major manufacturing investments related to guided weapons and explosive ordnance. Your New Role
You will deliver advanced cost estimation services to support strategic planning and investment assessments. The role involves developing and revising cost models, analysing cost risk and uncertainty, mentoring internal staff, and engaging with stakeholders to validate assumptions and present findings. Key objectives include:
* Developing cost estimation models using endorsed tools (CCT, ACEIT, TruePlanning)
* Conducting risk and uncertainty analysis for new proposals
* Revising existing cost models in line with scope changes
* Providing cost briefs, assurance reports, and ad-hoc analysis
* Mentoring staff in cost estimation techniques and model development
* Participating in stakeholder engagements and presenting cost findings
What You'll Need to Succeed
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
* Proven experience using CCT, ACEIT or TruePlanning tools
* Strong understanding of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) modelling
* Experience in Defence, Security or Estate sector cost assessments
* Ability to evaluate estimate completeness, methodology credibility and value validity
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Active NV1 security clearance (Negative Vetting Level 1) is essential
due to access requirements for classified Defence networks and systems.
