The Role
Are you passionate about creating safe, vibrant, and well-maintained aquatic spaces for community use?
We're looking for a skilled Technical Officer Aquatic Facilities who has a solutions focused mindset and a commitment for safety and compliance, necessary in overseeing the operations and maintenance of our stunning Yeppoon foreshore, lagoon precinct, and Council's aquatic facilities.
Candidates will have demonstrated experience developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships with a variety of contractors and ensure contract compliance and project delivery is on time and on budget.
What you'll be doing:
Communicating with and overseeing contractors and internal teams to deliver exceptional maintenance and operational outcomes.
Ensuring compliance with contract conditions ensuring meeting attendance and KPIs are maintained for the duration of contracts.
Leading aquatic infrastructure projects from concept to completion.
Providing expert technical advice to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Contributing to budgeting, asset management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Following up on incident reporting, hazard identification and implementing rectification action plans.
What We're Looking For:
Diploma of Project Management or Mechanical/Electrical Trade and/or substantial experience and demonstrated knowledge of contract and project management delivery of aquatic facility operations and building and maintenance management.
.
Sound knowledge of relevant statutory requirements/legislation and solid understanding and practical experience in conducting risk assessments for project and maintenance activities.
Hold or the ability to obtain Aquatic Technical Operator certification as well as holding a current driver's licence and General Construction Induction (White Card).
Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
Commitment to workplace health and safety and delivering outstanding service.
