We are looking for a creative and innovative Instructional Designer, preferably with in-house experience, to join our team In this role, you will craft memorable learning experiences by developing engaging, effective, and appealing learning programs.
This is a permanent role reporting to the Group Learning and Development Manager. You will be part of a collaborative and dynamic team, albeit geographically dispersed across Australia and New Zealand, so the ability to work autonomously is essential.
About Your Role
The Group Learning Instructional Designer is responsible for learning outcomes across Downer Group's initiatives. This involves identifying the target audience's learning needs and creating engaging eLearning and online materials to meet these needs.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to understand business context and upskilling needs, ensuring learning solutions align with organisational goals.
- Develop tailored learning content, creating innovative, fit-for-purpose learning materials and eLearning content that maximize outcomes.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop relevant, engaging learning materials and courses, incorporating different learning styles and strategies.
- Gather feedback from learners and stakeholders, lead post-implementation reviews, and ensure all learning content remains up-to-date and effective.
- Provide regular updates on program development priorities, status, and timeframes.
- Develop and maintain digital learning tools, templates, and branding strategies, ensuring consistency in design, messaging, and user experience across the organization.
What You Bring:
You are a highly driven, customer-focused professional with a passion for achieving results. With strong interpersonal skills, you build effective relationships at all levels. Your excellent communication and critical thinking abilities ensure you deliver impactful outcomes in a dynamic environment. Additionally, you will bring:
- Minimum 4 years of relevant instructional design experience, preferably in a large, complex, diverse, and multi-site organization.
- Strong understanding of adult education and online learning principles.
- Skilled e-learning developer with experience in Adobe Suite, Vyond, Articulate, and other digital tools.
- Experience working within a large, matrixed talent structure where customized solutions and collaboration are key to success.
