The Opportunity

As a Lecturer in Film and Screen, you will join the Film, Screen and Culture section of the School and play an important role in shaping its research and teaching profile. You will contribute to a vibrant research culture by supporting individual and collective ambitions, working with research leaders across the School and Faculty, and helping drive successful research funding outcomes with academic, social and policy impact. Your vision for building relationships with external partners, industry and community organisations will be key to your success.

You will also Ideally contribute to expanding the section’s creative practice and screen production strengths by integrating production-based teaching and research that brings together creative making and critical studies. In this role, you will inspire students through practice-led learning, supporting their development in film, video and emerging screen forms while fostering solid links between theory and practice. You will also have a strong emerging research profile.

The Lecturer in Film and Screen will ideally possess expertise in one or more of the following: artificial intelligence (AI), digital film-making, XR technologies, streaming platforms, animation, and practice as research. The role will possess a strong inclination to build screen industry connections and an emerging research profile with quality publications (and/or non-traditional research outputs) in an area relevant to our rapidly changing media environment and technologies.
