Casual DAY SHIFT worker needed for full training as rotational moulding machine operator (making polyethylene plastic products).
We will start the successful applicant as CASUAL, with required work permissions (visa) for 38 hours per week. The long-term goal would be to make them permanent if they are a good fit. For that reason, the desire to stay for more than a year or two will be considered an advantage in any applicant.
Training will be provided. You will receive comprehensive training, but will ideally require high-level English comprehension to ensure you are trained safely and competently.
Our work environment is one of the best you'll find, with a reasonable workload, little interference from management, and no toxic workers -- quite a unique workplace The job is not overly physical, but will require physical fitness and stamina.
Polyethylene, along with the rotational moulding production process used to convert it into parts is completely safe (and food-grade), in terms of what will be handled and inhaled. The applicant will need to bring their own basic protective clothing: hi-vis work clothes and steel-capped work boots. However, we will provide other protective consumables: ear plugs, gloves, masks, etc (where needed).

Job duties (detailed)
* Produce polyethylene parts via the rotational moulding process
◦ Prepare each mould for cooking/production
Clean mould
Replenish mould features as needed (inserts, graphics, etc) to
Apply release agent to mould surface as needed
Fill mould with correct weight of plastic resin (polyethylene)
Close mould and check readiness before cooking
◦ De-mould finished parts
Remove feature restrictors as needed
Open mould
Demould part
Follow post-removal cooling procedure if required
◦ General duties
Periodic mould cleaning
Report mould or machine defects to engineering department
Manage part cooking/cooling times and follow correct mould procedures to avoid part distortion and minimize rejected parts
Quality check finished parts as needed (i.e. leak testing, distortion, cosmetic criteria, etc)
Use of power tools, mainly pneumatic (in particular the pneumatic rattle gun used for opening/closing moulds)
Use of hand tools as required
Remove/install moulds on machine arms as required
Balance moulds on machine arms as required using positioning and dedicated counterweights
Complete required production paperwork
If the above looks foreign and confusing, that's because you still have to learn it It's certainly not rocket science, and you will have ample training. You also have your mouth for asking questions, and no one will get annoyed with you for doing that. A good brain (and more accurately, the usage of it) *will* make a difference to the worker you eventually become, naturally. Also, attention to detail is a huge plus.
