If you answered yes, Ford Motor Company Australia is seeking a skilled Trade Electrician to join our Product Development team at the iconic You Yangs Proving Ground. This isn't just a maintenance role - you will be at the heart of our engineering operations, directly supporting the testing verification and validation of next-generation Ford Vehicles. This role is Full-Time (Shift Flexibility Required).
Key Responsibilities
* Precision Instrumentation: Calibrate and maintain high-precision test equipment, including force transducers, digital power analysers and high-speed data loggers.
* Automation & Control: Lead fault-finding, programming and logic optimization for advanced Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) systems and data acquisition hardware.
* Prototyping & Design: Partner with engineering teams to set up vehicle prototypes, including manufacturing custom wiring looms & thermocouples.
* Facility Excellence: Ensure the safety and reliability of site infrastructure through electrical installations, preventative maintenance (PM) and Test & Tag compliance.
What you bring
Technical Expertise: A valid Electricians License (A-Grade) is mandatory.
Specialized Knowledge: Qualifications in Instrumentation (Cert III), Electronics or Mechatronics (Cert IV/Advanced Diploma) will be highly regarded
Innovation Mindset: A genuine interest in vehicle architecture and the Safety First mentality required for cutting-edge testing environments.
Adaptability: Readiness to support testing schedules across different shifts and PD locations.
Requirements
* Open Registration (formerly Austel) with structured cabling and fibre-optic endorsements is advantageous.
* Valid Australian Driver's License
