Psychological Support Specialist
The role of Psychological Support Specialist is a critical position within the Corrections Victoria team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct clinical assessments and provide intervention for mental health concerns and trauma exposure among staff members.
* Develop and deliver training sessions on workplace mental health, psychosocial risks, and wellbeing strategies.
* Collaborate with local teams to implement initiatives addressing mental health and wellbeing issues in high-security prisons.
Requirements:
* Demonstrated senior-level experience in mental health support provision.
* Significant expertise in assessment, treatment, and intervention models for complex populations.
* Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
* Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships at all levels.
* Reflective, open to feedback, and committed to promoting psychological safety.
* Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency or Membership of the Australian Association of Social Work.
* Desirable: Psychology Board of Australia Approved Supervisor or Australian Association of Social Workers Accredited Supervisor status.
* Specialist endorsement and/or experience in clinical or forensic fields would be highly desirable.
* Training in reflective practice, group supervision, or Psychological First Aid is desirable.
* Minimum four years post-registration experience, or equivalent.
* A current Victorian Driver's Licence is required.
