Primary objective
Provide operational and strategic leadership of Security Services at Alice Springs Hospital (ASH), including oversight of the Security
contract, risk mitigation initiatives, and policy compliance to maintain a safe and secure healthcare environment.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Lead the development, implementation and review of security policies, procedures and invoices in line with relevant legislation and
organisational standards.
2. Oversee the contracted Security Services for ASH, ensuring compliance and quality performance.
3. Provide sound advice and support for campus operations that require security input.
4. Monitor and analyse incident data, maintain records, and contribute to continuous improvement strategies.
5. Conduct and review security audits and risk assessments across hospital and wider campus.
6. Coordinate procurement and purchasing in line with NT Government frameworks to support Security operations.
7. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour, maintaining a supportive
work environment with an emphasis on respectful and inclusive team culture.
8. Follow defined service quality standards, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures relating to the work being
undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in managing security operations and emergency responses in a healthcare or high-risk environment,
including strong knowledge of relevant systems, policies and legislation, to effectively improve responses and occupational violence.
2. Demonstrated highly developed leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with influence, delivering
communication to suit the audience and situation, including the ability to resolve challenging situations in a sensitive and professional
manner.
1. Demonstrated ability to employ a high level of discretion, organisational, analytical and time management skills to facilitate efficient
and effective security services, providing a range of information to all internal and external stakeholders.
1. Demonstrated ability to identify emerging challenges or opportunities, navigate complex issues and work collaboratively to develop
solutions and achieve objectives.
1. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage complex enquiries and complaints, including the investigation and development of
recommendations for consideration, and diffuse situations with clients and staff
1. Demonstrated experience in contract management, procurement, and project coordination.
2. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
communities.
8. Demonstrated knowledge and experience facilitating high risk management practices, incident reporting, and performance monitoring.
Desirable
1. Certificate II in Security Operations
