Our client is an Australian owned company, operating in the manufacturing and distribution sector in South-East Melbourne. Starting ASAP, we are looking for an Assistant Accountant on a 6 month contract (with potential for permanency) to join the finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, your role will include but not be limited to: Assist with the setup and implementation of the accounting software, ensuring accuracy and smooth transition. Process and record day-to-day financial transactions in the accounting system. Assist with accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections. Support month-end reconciliations including bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts. Assist with payroll processing and related compliance requirements. Help with budgeting, forecasting, and providing financial information to management. Liaise with suppliers, customers, and external stakeholders regarding finance queries. Provide administrative and ad-hoc support to the finance function as required.
