J & R Refrigeration is a locally owned business that has proudly operated in Cairns since 1989, expanding into the Atherton Tablelands in 2020. With over 95 employees, we are one of the region's leading providers of Electrical, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration services.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our construction team.
About the Role
This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of electrical construction projects across commercial and industrial sectors.
You will manage projects from handover through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to specification, while providing strong leadership to site teams and maintaining positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage electrical construction projects from tender handover to completion
* Plan and coordinate labour, materials, subcontractors, and equipment
* Manage project budgets, variations, progress claims, and cost control
* Ensure compliance with AS3000, WHS legislation, and project specifications
* Liaise with clients, builders, consultants, and internal stakeholders
* Interpret drawings, specifications, and construction programs
* Monitor project progress, risks, and timelines
* Lead and support supervisors and site teams
* Ensure site safety, quality assurance, and documentation standards are met
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager or Senior Electrical Supervisor ready to step up
* Electrical trade qualification with a current electrical licence
* Strong experience in commercial and industrial construction projects
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
* Sound knowledge of AS3000 and construction safety requirements
* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
* Current CPR & LVR
* Construction White Card
* Valid Driver's Licence
* QLD electrical licence (or ability to transfer – assistance available)
