About the role
This role will involve catering for all meal periods and all outlets including Luci Restaurant (Lunch/Dinner), The Douglas Bar, Executive Lounge, In Room Dining as well as Events.
As a valued part of our team, you will be given training for all sections and the opportunity to learn and work with diverse ingredients, techniques, and dishes. As a team we love sharing ideas and learning from each other. More specifically, you will be responsible for:
* Preparing mis-en-place for all the relevant menus
* Work with a positive attitude in timely and efficient manner
* Preparing and presenting high quality dishes
* Keeping all working areas clean and tidy to ensure no cross contamination
* Ensure food items are of a good quality and stored correctly
* Embrace a commitment to continuous learning, and remain up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques.
What are we looking for?
* Certificate in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
* Ideal candidates will have 1.5 to 2 years of experience as a chef, along with basic knowledge of pastry
* Have a positive attitude and effectively communicate with the team
* Confident and efficient knife skills
* Ability to work under pressure
* Adaptability and a team-oriented mindset
* Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays
