Our client is the largest integrated construction materials company in Australia, producing and selling a broad range of construction materials, including quarry products, cement, concrete, asphalt and recycled materials. Employing circa 9,100 employees and contractors nationally, their extensive footprint includes some 357 operating sites nationally.
Located in North Ryde, today they are seeking to appoint a Regional (NSW) Mobile Asset Manager for their Concrete & Quarries businesses. This is a regional functional leadership role, and you will be responsible for driving an operational excellence framework to deliver operational performance and efficiency of all on road fleets (heavy and light vehicles) and HME. This performance must be delivered with a view to operating safely; satisfying customer experience expectations; optimising profitability and maintaining regulatory compliance.
This role will provide functional leadership across all mobile asset teams in the operational business (operations managers, logistics managers, fleet supervisors, maintenance managers), ensuring that a safety and performance focus exists across the mobile asset capability and deployment. It will ensure execution of maintenance activities against preventative maintenance schedules and oversee that Chain of Responsibility activities are fulfilled.
**Your key duties and responsibilities will include**:
**_ People_**
- Facilitating business performance reviews is a key function of the role
- Working with GM to assist in the optimal running of fleets
- Working with Operations Managers & Line in the management of fleets
- Functional leader responsible for visible leadership delivering a culture of Zero Harm. This includes promoting a strong safety culture that aligns to Boral's safety initiatives and programs
- Collaborates with National Mobile Assets team, and provides regional input towards development of standardised processes, systems, and capabilities
- Drive engagement with and development of the mobile asset leaders across the operating business (Logistic Managers, Area Managers, Fleet supervisors, Maintenance Managers etc)
- Drives the implementation and consistent use of standardised processes across the business.
- Meet all compliance obligations for HSE, including statutory requirements around rail (where relevant) and Chain of Responsibility / HVNL.
**_ Environment_**
- Implement strategies to drive sustainable reductions in the CO2 emissions across our mobile asset fleets.
**_ Markets_**
- Ensures that performance outcomes are delivered whilst satisfying customer experience expectations and optimising profitability.
- Regional lead for the execution of the Heavy Vehicle strategy, balancing the best utilisation of company fleet against contracted fleet. This includes developing and executing regional plans to change company / 3rd party fleet structures.
- Management of the Fleet Administration Team, responsible for the lifecycle management of fleet contractors, driver medicals and work diary management, HV registrations, tolls, fines/infringements and fuel card management.
**_ Assets_**
- Works across the operating business to ensure maximised asset utilization with a view to reduce operating costs, optimised return on invested capital and improve margin.
- Responsible as the regional lead for asset lifecycle and capital management
- Translates strategies (such as the HV and HME strategies) into operational plans with performance targets and ensures delivery of the strategy
- Support the development and where necessary the deployment of systems associated with mobile assets.
- Conforms to standardised processes and systems in line with optimisation of end to end lifecycle of all mobile assets
**_ Financials (outcomes)_**
- Responsible for driving optimised asset utilisation which will enable better external revenue and lower unit costs, both of which will lead to enhanced margin outcomes.
- Responsible for supporting the development of the facets of operational budgets associated with mobile assets.
- Responsible for anticipating and driving actions / activities to ensure targets are met.
