The role We are currently seeking a Business Systems Analyst to be based in our Adelaide office reporting directly to our Deputy Chief Financial Officer.
This is a broad systems role with a combination of process improvement, system administration and various other ad-hoc finance related tasks.
The successful candidate will be an active member of the wider Finance team, contributing to the attainment of group objectives and plans.
Key Responsibilities Lead implementation projects for financial systems, payroll solutions, and other corporate service technologies Conduct detailed workflow analysis specific to legal practice management and administrative processes Design efficient workflows and system configurations aligned with corporate services operational requirements Develop and execute rollout strategies for new systems across practice groups and corporate services departments Create and deliver "train the trainer" programs tailored to legal professionals and administrative staff Provide technical support for financial, payroll, and corporate service systems Write and maintain SQL reports to extract meaningful insights from practice management and financial systems Document system configurations, procedures, and training materials Serve as liaison between IT teams, legal software vendors, and firm stakeholders Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Accounting/Finance, or related field 3+ years of experience in system implementation, preferably within legal or professional services environments Strong knowledge of legal financial systems, payroll solutions, and practice management platforms Proficiency in SQL report writing and data analysis for legal business operations Experience with workflow analysis and process improvement methodologies in professional services Excellent training and presentation skills for diverse audiences including attorneys and administrative staff Strong problem-solving abilities and technical troubleshooting skills Effective communication skills to translate technical concepts to legal professionals Project management experience preferred The following will also be considered favourably: CPA or accounting certification a plus Experience with legal-specific software and financial management systems Understanding of law firm billing structures and financial reporting requirements Knowledge of payroll systems and integration with time tracking solutions Familiarity with document management systems and workflow automation Experience implementing systems that support regulatory compliance Understanding of change management principles in traditional professional environments What we offer We have a supportive network at Thomson Geer, offering excellent working conditions.
