About the Role
The Key Account Executive - Energy works with our biggest and most complex commercial and industrial customers, helping us achieve our Electricity and Gas revenue and profit targets through skilled, savvy development and first-class account management / service practices. This role is a true conduit to competitive intelligence for the company, so critical to your success will be your ability to develop relationships with several internal teams, along with various specialists and consultants within the broader energy sector.
A snapshot of your key responsibilities include:
* Developing and maintaining key customer and consultant/ broker relationships to ensure EA receives a final opportunity to price.
* Developing business cases and tender responses to optimise customer solutions accounting for customer sites, energy usage profiles, prevailing and future energy pricing, government incentives, existing assets, innovative technology, and future opportunities.
* Proactively looking for and negotiating new customer contracts whilst effectively liaising with executive level stakeholders to ensure they come to fruition.
* Contributing to the development of strategic and tactical plans for the sale of embedded generation and energy efficiency solutions to commercial and industrial customers.
* Proactively offering innovative solutions combined with sound decision making throughout the tendering process, as opportunities arise.
About You
To thrive in this position, you'll be a highly commercial key account management professional with the ability to think conceptually and strategically, not just transactionally. You'll possess a keen eye for detail and have a natural ability to build long-term professional relationships.
Other things we'd love you to bring include:
* Significant (10+ years) experience working in, and a detailed understanding of, the energy sector.
* A strong record of accomplishment in a sales management or major accounts role, with experience in new energy solutions viewed favourably.
* Knowledge of the gas and electricity markets, ASX futures and NEM (wholesale experience a bonus).
* Demonstrated success seeking out and cultivating large scale sales opportunities.
* Significant commercial acumen, including experience negotiating and managing complex contracts.
* Experience in the use of financial, economic, and other business indicators to evaluate and manage the performance of the business.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, with a focus on Excel.
