Newcastle, AU**About the Opportunity**:
The M1 Raymond Terrace (M1RT) project team, based in Newcastle, are seeking an appropriately skilled Temporary Works Manager to assist with the scoping and management of temporary works packages, reporting into the Design Director.
M12RT is a linear infrastructure project - road and bridge, with a significant amount of Temporary Works that is integral to the success of this complex project.
You will be supported by the engineering function on the project and within the broader JH business, with mentorship from our Temporary Works leaders within TEK.
**What you will do;**:
- Oversee project implementation and compliance to the John Holland Temporary Works Manual, Project Deed & Specifications and GMR-7: Temporary Works
- Establish and manage the Temporary Works Register and design program
- Ensure Temporary Works Design Briefs prepared by the Temporary Works Package Owner provide sufficient information to complete the design works
- Review and approve the scope and risk category of Temporary Works as defined in the Temporary Works Design Briefs
- Coordinate Temporary Works design with Permanent Work design and relevant subcontractor packages
- Manage a preferred Temporary Works consultant panel to meet project requirements based on type, risk and complexity of Temporary Works
- Contribute to external consultant SFCA where new consultants are required
- Ensure design of Temporary Works is managed within budget and programme
- Ensure suitably competent and qualified persons are engaged to act as the Temporary Works Designer, Design Checker and Proof Engineer
- Manage all commercial aspects of consultant engagement, and track consultant performance
- Review Temporary Works design documentation to ensure it meets the requirements of the Design Brief and Project Deed
- Coordinate Safety in Design workshops as required
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and planning authorities to ensure appropriate reviews of Temporary Works design and construction work are undertaken in accordance with Project Specifications
- Review and approval of the AMS relating to any specific Temporary Works Design Packages
- Oversee procedural compliance of site validation for Temporary Works by construction team or subcontractors, including appointment of a competent Temporary Works Site Validator
- Ensure a robust inspection and monitoring regime has been implemented by the Construction team, and personally conduct periodic site walks / inspections for Temporary Works in use
- Coordinate Temporary Works Change Management Process
- Assist Workplace Manager with project GMR self-assessment audits, training, and familiarisation of this Manual and GMR for all new project resources
- Exhibit outstanding leadership in health, safety, environmental and risk management, compliance and auditing. Contribute to SiD, WRA, AMS, TRA and ITP's as required
- Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedures
**To be successful**:
- Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction or equivalent degree.
- Detailed understanding of various Temporary Works solutions and relevant design standards
- Management of multidisciplinary consultants
- Management of Temporary Works consultant deliverables on Projects > $500m
