This role involves leading the development and implementation of complex legislation, providing high-level advice, and ensuring that legislative outcomes align with the Government’sobjectives. As part of this role, you will:Lead the drafting and development of complex legislation, providing high-level advice and analysis to the Minister and Department, and negotiating policy requirements with the Minister's Office, senior management, and Parliamentary Counsel.Develop legislative solutions to achieve policy outcomes, ensuring effective implementation, and establish and maintain effective networks with Ministers' Offices and internal/external stakeholders.Lead the development of cabinet submissions, speeches, and explanatory materials to support legislative processes, and ensure legislation is customer-oriented and aligned with the Government’sobjectives.For further information about the role, we encourage you to review the attached Job Description Form (JDF) andcontact Charlie Marks, Manager Legislation Services on Charlie.Marks@transport.wa.gov.au and/or 65516860 .There is currently one (1) permanent position available for immediate filling.Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments will be made for this or similar future vacancies (fixed term or permanent) that arise within the next 18 months from date of first appointment across the Department of Transport.About youYou are a professional with tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or extensive experience in drafting complex legislation.You possess high-level interpersonal skills, enabling you to conduct effective negotiations and liaise with senior stakeholders both internally and externally, ensuring successful collaboration and legislative outcomes.You are adept at managing sensitive and complex matters independently, with strategic oversight.Your proven expertise in legislative project development, planning, and management is underpinned by thorough knowledge of legislative and parliamentary procedures, as well as a sound understanding of statutory interpretation principles.Perks and BenefitsWe invite you toBePart of Something REAL.
