Procurement & Facilities Services is seeking a permanent full-time A08 Manager, Procurement Services for the Building Construction & Maintenance category team. As the Manager, you will be a part of a team that works closely with key stakeholders to provide benefits/value to procurement activities and deliver high quality category management services to the Department. You will have a good knowledge of tendering and contract management processes and will be expected to lead the development and implementation of best practice procurement management systems, strategies and procedures that meet business needs, deliver efficiencies and ensure consistency.

About The Role
Responsibilities include:
* Lead, manage and continue to build a team of branch staff, both public servants and contractors, who undertake a variety of end-to-end procurement activities.
* Provide mentoring, guidance, development opportunities, on-the-job training and advice to branch staff, stakeholders, customers across the department, across government and within industry.
* Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of:
o The strategic direction of the department and relevant individual strategic initiatives.
o Current department demand.
o End users' requirements.
o Potential changes in future demand for products and services.
o Supply markets, including new product and service innovations.
o Opportunities for product and service substitution.
o Performance of current sourcing strategies, contracts and arrangements.
o Whole of government procurement strategies and initiatives that may impact the Department.
* In conjunction with key stakeholders, lead the development of strategies that deliver Departmental and Government objectives and priorities and minimise risk, including the development of plans for significant procurement.
