What You'll Do
* Lead and manage a team of Claims Adjusters and administrators, overseeing day-to-day claims operations and performance
* Set clear team goals, drive productivity, and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture
* Provide technical guidance and act as a key escalation point for complex and litigated claims
* Maintain your own portfolio of claims, including high‐value and complex matters across multiple lines
* Allocate new claims, ensuring appropriate resourcing and effective management across the team
* Build strong relationships with brokers, insureds, underwriters, and external service providers
* Oversee the appointment and performance of panel lawyers, adjusters, and other experts
* Ensure accurate reserving, timely payments, and compliance with internal and regulatory requirements
* Lead reporting activities, including management reporting and major loss updates
* Drive process improvement, innovation, and best practice across claims operations
* Mentor and develop team members, building capability and supporting career growth
The Candidate - Skills, Qualifications & Experience
About you
You are an experienced insurance claims professional with over five years' experience across multiple lines, bringing strong technical expertise in claims management, regulatory requirements (including NCPD), and their interaction with underwriting. You have a proven track record managing complex and high‐value claims while overseeing portfolios in structured, regulated environments, supported by leadership experience coordinating teams and external providers. Known for your strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, you are highly organised, commercially minded, and focused on driving operational improvements and enhancing claims processes.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in general insurance claims, with exposure across multiple lines of business
* Strong technical knowledge of claims management principles, regulatory requirements, and their interaction with underwriting
* Demonstrated experience managing complex or high‐value claims and overseeing claims portfolios
* Leadership experience in coordinating teams and external service providers (including remote or offshore teams)
* Experience operating within a structured, multinational or regulated environment, including adherence to authority limits and reporting requirements
* Sound knowledge of regulatory requirements in respect to claims and in particular NCPD Reporting requirements
* Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills (written and verbal)
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, manage competing demands, and contribute to process improvement initiatives
* Proven ability to drive operational improvements, support projects, and enhance claims processes

* Tertiary qualifications in Law, Business, Commerce, or a related field
