About the role: Fixed Term to 30 June 2027 Part-time 0.8 FTE Following the Royal Commission's recommendation for the Victorian Collaborative Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing (Collaborative Centre) to coordinate learning and professional development across the whole mental health and wellbeing sector, the Collaborative Centre's statewide workforce education and development function will commence operations on July 1, 2025. The Collaborative Centre will play a strategic leadership role in the co-ordination and dissemination of evidence-based education and professional development, as well as the delivery of innovative workforce capability programs. This work will be critical in ensuring that no matter where they are, Victorians receive care from a workforce with shared knowledge, skills and the support they need to thrive. To support this critical work, the Collaborative Centre is seeking a dynamic and innovative Senior Workforce Development Facilitator – Consumer Perspective to contribute to professional development program delivery across clinical and community mental health in Victoria. Reporting to the Manager Lived and Living Experience, Workforce Development, these roles will be responsible for developing and delivering workforce development programs that directly respond to mental health workforce needs, working closely with stakeholders across Victoria's mental health sector. The Collaborative Centre is a growing organisation operating in a fast-paced, high-output environment where priorities can shift quickly. We're looking for individuals who are adaptable and able to maintain focus and composure as demands evolve. The ability to pivot when needed, stay grounded during periods of high activity, and take on ad hoc responsibilities in line with resourcing is essential to success in this role. About us: The Collaborative Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing is a Victorian public entity led by a unique Co-CEO partnership and governed by an independent skills-based Board who report to the Minister for Mental Health. About you: * Personal lived experience of mental ill health or psychological distress OR of supporting someone living with mental illness or psychological distress; AND * Demonstrated ability to apply this lived experience to improve systems that deliver health or human services or to develop policy. * Demonstrated experience working with people that have a past or current lived experience of mental ill-health or psychological distress is mandatory. Specialist Lived Experience * Centring lived experience: working primarily from the lens of lived experience and drawing on lived experience to guide decision-making; having a connection to, and understanding of, the consumer, carer, peer, LGBTIQA and/or AOD movements and staying true to their underpinning values; leading with a strong intersectional approach. * Connecting with community: cultivate a safe environment within and outside the workplace; championing diversity and inclusivity by engaging with and making space for different perspectives; exploring diverse ways for people with lived experience to engage, participate in and lead the work of the Collaborative Centre. * Advocacy and championing justice: a demonstrated commitment to, and knowledge of, human rights and social justice principles and a proven capacity to apply them in decision-making; championing an intersectional and trauma-informed approach to work; advocating for change and challenging existing norms; proactively working with discomfort and navigating conflicting interests. * Workforce: Expertise relating to effective workforce education and development building within the mental health, human services or health sectors, including working within complex systems to effect change on the ground.
