About the role
FHS Build is a growing construction company delivering commercial and residential projects across Brisbane and surrounds. We work across a diverse portfolio — from $100k fitouts through to $5m commercial builds — and we operate with a close-knit, high-trust team that takes pride in getting the job done properly.
What you'll be doing
* Leading site supervision across multiple concurrent projects, acting as the primary on-site point of contact for subcontractors, trades, and clients
* Administering subcontracts end-to-end: scoping, letting, managing variations, processing claims, and issuing notices
* Developing and maintaining project programmes; tracking progress and flagging any schedule risk early
* Procuring and managing subcontractors: sourcing, pricing, negotiating, and holding them accountable on site
* Preparing and submitting RFIs, managing submittals and document registers, and keeping project records tight
* Liaising directly with clients and the Directors on project status, variations, and upcoming decisions
* Supporting and mentoring a cadet through day-to-day site and office tasks
* Ensuring WHS compliance across all sites in line with company and legislative requirements
* Tracking costs and contributing to budget reporting across your projects
What we're looking for
The non-negotiables:
* At least 5 years' experience in a hands‐on construction role that spans both site supervision and contract administration
* Demonstrated ability to run multiple projects simultaneously
* Strong understanding of subcontract documents, variations, and claims (experience with AS4000 or AS2124 is well regarded)
* White Card (General Construction Induction)
* A Queensland Supervisor's Licence — or the experience to obtain one quickly
* Confidence to make decisions on site and in documentation without needing to escal...
Ideally you'll also have:
* A degree or TAFE qualification in Construction Management, Building, or a related trade
* Experience with construction management software (Procore, Hammertech, or similar)
* A solid network of reliable subcontractors in the Brisbane market
* Experience across both commercial and residential project types
