We have a newly created opportunity for a Senior Approvals Manager to lead the planning and approvals process for a large-scale Masterplanned Community on the Tweed Coast, while also working from our Brisbane office frequently. This is a unique opportunity to influence the future of large-scale community development in a role that blends strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead end-to-end planning and approvals for complex, Masterplanned communities.
* Collaborate with development teams to align project design and delivery with statutory requirements.
* Manage external consultants and advisors to ensure timely, high-quality planning submissions.
* Provide strategic insights to support feasibility, capital transactions, and delivery pipeline planning.
* Build strong relationships with councils, government agencies, and community stakeholders.
* Monitor planning legislation and policy changes, advising on risks and opportunities.
* Champion innovation in housing product and community design.
* Contribute to internal governance, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.
About you
You're an efficient and engaging professional who brings people together to deliver outcomes. Bold in your thinking, curious in your approach, and creative in how you solve problem. You know how to take others on the journey. Whether navigating complex approvals or building trusted relationships, you lead with clarity, confidence, and collaboration.
You'll also bring:
* Tertiary qualifications in Urban Planning, Property Development, Environmental Planning or a related field.
* 8–10 years' experience in planning or development approvals, ideally within large-scale property projects.
* A strong understanding of planning legislation, policy, and infrastructure frameworks.
* Proven ability to lead complex approvals processes and influence outcomes with councils and government agencies.
* Excellent communication skills and a track record of building strong, productive relationships.
* Strong understanding and previous experience of NSW planning approvals framework would be highly beneficial.
