We offer unparallel opportunities in Victoria's largest & most clinically diverse teaching health service.About Pathology UnitMonash Immunopathology is a specialised area of Pathology that focuses on diagnostics components to aid in the diagnosis, monitoring and management of immune-related diseases, including autoimmune diseases across a broad number of other specialties, immunodeficiencies, allergy and haematological malignancy.
The laboratory has two main sections, autoimmune serology and flow cytometry, encompassing immunodeficiency and malignant flow.The Department of Immunopathology is based at Monash Medical Centre in Clayton.
The laboratory covers a wide array of in-house and send-away tests that service a wide range of specialties including clinical immunology, haematology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, neurology and endocrinology.
Within Monash Health, there are five laboratories including Immunochemistry services within Chemical Pathology.About the RoleThe successful applicant will report to the Unit Head of Immunology Laboratory, other immunopathologists and trained in the following:Selection of laboratory investigations and analytical techniques, including evaluation and interpretation of data and limitations of testingValidation of laboratory results, reporting of flow cytometry, reading of immunofluorescence assay slides, evaluation of new tests and review protocols and policiesClinical liaison: provision of advice to clinicians on selection and interpretation of laboratory tests, liaison regarding critical results, preparation of materials for clinical reviewThe applicant will also be expected to participate in:Staff education and laboratory operational meetingsResearch and development projectsContinued self-learning activitiesAbout YouTo ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:A medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) with current registration the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APRHA)A current Victorian Working with Children Check Employee (WWCC)Previous experience in Chemical Pathology is desirableReferee RequestAs part of your application, please complete the referee request form at least twice (preferably three times) to ensure we receive a minimum of two references.Request Referee DetailsOnce you submit the form, an automated request will be sent to each referee.
