The business is capital intensive and is positioned at the forefront of institutional investment in natural capital and values the highest standards of governance, financial discipline, and risk management, with the business entering a new phase of operational and strategic scale.THE ROLEThey require a Tax & Commercial Manager to join the Melbourne-based finance team in a leadership capacity, reporting directly to the CFO.
This is a broad and commercially critical role, responsible for managing the group's tax structuring, advisory on acquisitions and corporate transactions, and management of project works through to capitalisation.
You will play a key part in ensuring ongoing adherence to statutory obligations and best-practice asset governance, supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic objectives.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESProvide tax structuring advice on acquisitions and corporate transactions;Lead the development and execution of capital projects, WIP, and adherence to asset policies;Drive the recording of Capital works undertaken in the group and assist and co-ordinate the Capex approval process;Full ownership and management of all tax liabilities, including internal advisory across jurisdictions;Reporting to the Board and stakeholders, including supporting cost control and budgetary processes;Lead the end-to-end insurance program, renewals, and stakeholder liaison to ensure risk is appropriately covered across all operations;Collaborate across finance, operations, and external advisors to maintain robust compliance and governance processes;Manage the Fixed Asset Register.THE REQUIREMENTSCA/CPA qualified accountant with a minimum of 5 years' experience in tax advisory, preferably with exposure to corporate or institutional clients;Proven experience managing direct and indirect tax obligations;Ability to form strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders;Commercial mindset with the ability to influence and engage cross-functionally;Highly organised, detail-oriented and confident working in a lean, fast-paced team;Prior exposure to capital-intensive industries is desirable.TO APPLYTo enquire, please phone David Compton on 0411175551 for a confidential discussion or submit your resume and a cover letter, outlining your interest and qualifications, online.
